What is Mono Compatibility?

Mono compatibility means your mix retains its balance, tonal character, and energy when the left and right channels are summed to a single mono signal.

How It Works

When a stereo signal is played back on a mono system — a Bluetooth speaker, a smartphone, a PA system, or a club setup — the left and right channels are summed together. If the left and right channels contain identical information (perfectly correlated), they combine constructively and the signal gets louder.
